About Iasso Health

Online family medicine in Romania for expats, international students and visitors who need clear medical advice in English, French, Arabic or Romanian.

The physician

Dr. Diaa El Jamali

Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Diaa El Jamali is a family medicine physician based in Bucharest, Romania. Originally from Lebanon and raised in an international environment, he consults in English, French, Arabic and Romanian.

He completed his secondary education at the Lycée Français Anna de Noailles in Bucharest, then studied medicine at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He also trained in France, including one year in psychiatry, before returning to Romania to specialize in family medicine.

That international path shapes how he practices today: clear communication, cultural sensitivity, and practical medical guidance for patients who may feel lost in a healthcare system that is not always easy to navigate in a foreign language.

Why Iasso Health

Why I created Iasso Health

I created Iasso Health because I know what it means to navigate different healthcare systems, languages and administrative cultures. Having lived and trained between Romania, France and an international environment, I understand how difficult it can be to know where to go, what document is needed, which doctor to contact, or whether a symptom requires urgent care.

Iasso Health was built to make this easier for expats, international students and visitors in Romania: a first medical point of contact, in a language they understand, with clear guidance and practical next steps. It is an online medical consultation with a doctor in Bucharest.

What we cover

What we can help with

These are common reasons to book family medicine in Romania. A prescription, a certificate or a diagnosis is considered only after the doctor reviews your situation.

General medical consultations

A first conversation about a new symptom, a worry or a health question.

Common infections and respiratory symptoms

Colds, sore throats, coughs, sinus symptoms and other common infections.

Digestive symptoms

Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and similar problems.

Skin problems

Rashes, irritation and other skin concerns that can be discussed during the consultation.

Medication questions

Questions about a medicine you already take, and whether it still fits your situation.

Follow-up of chronic conditions

A review of a known condition, within what can safely be covered in an online consultation.

Medical certificates

Administrative medical documents for work, study or residence procedures, issued only when the medical review and the applicable rules allow it.

When to be seen in person

Guidance on whether you need an in-person consultation, laboratory tests, imaging or emergency evaluation.

During a consultation

A clear first medical point of contact

Iasso Health helps you understand the situation before you have to guess where to go in Romania.

  • What your symptoms may require
  • Whether the situation can be managed online
  • When you need an in-person consultation
  • Where to go in the Romanian healthcare system
  • What documents may be needed

An online consultation is a medical conversation. When an examination, a test or urgent care is the right next step, you will be told.

Not for emergencies

This is not emergency care

Iasso Health does not replace emergency care. If you have chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, neurological symptoms, major trauma, a severe allergic reaction, or any urgent medical situation, call emergency services or go directly to the nearest emergency department.

In Romania, the emergency number is 112.
