Request an AppointmentWhat this attestation is for
Under Romanian law on paternity leave, fathers who obtain a puericulture course attestation may ask their employer for 5 working days of extra paid paternity leave, on top of the standard 10 working days.
The attestation is the official proof that the father has learned the basic care notions for a newborn. A course participation certificate is not the same as that official attestation.
The 5 extra working days
Law 210/1999 on paternity leave, as updated, gives eligible fathers 10 working days of paid leave. When the father also holds the puericulture attestation, that leave can be extended by 5 working days.
The extra days depend on holding the attestation and on the employer’s application of the law. This website does not decide leave with your employer.
Who this service is for
Expectant fathers and new fathers who work in Romania, including expatriates and foreign employees, and who already completed a puericulture course.
Fathers who want to understand, in English, French, or Romanian, what documents and checks are usually involved before any possible attestation.
How to share your course certificate
In the consultation request, say that you already have a course participation certificate.
Share the digital course certificate during the consultation, or when the doctor asks for documents through a secure follow-up. Do not send your identity document by ordinary email.
Only documents that are needed for the medical review should be shared. Avoid sending unnecessary files.
How to book
Use the usual Iasso Health consultation request. Pick a preferred date and time window, then add your name and email.
Fees stay the same as for other medical consultations. There is no separate puericulture price on this page.
What the doctor checks
Before any possible issuance, the doctor verifies the course documents and the father’s knowledge, and checks whether the applicable rules allow a next step.
The methodological norms for the paternity-leave law describe issuance by the father’s family doctor or by specialised staff of a unit that runs the course. A private online consultation does not by itself mean that every doctor can issue the official attestation.
Until practitioner eligibility and the legal modalities of issuance are confirmed for this practice, this page only offers a preliminary review request.
Questions patients ask
Will I leave with the official puericulture attestation?
Not on this request alone. This page only offers a preliminary review. Any possible issuance depends on the documents, the knowledge check, and the rules that apply to the practitioner.
Is my course participation certificate enough for the employer?
No. A course participation certificate is not the same as the official puericulture attestation used for the 5 extra working days.
Do I need to email my identity card?
No. Do not send your identity document by ordinary email. Share only the course certificate when the doctor asks for it through a secure channel or during the consultation.
Is there a special fee for this service?
No. The consultation fees are the usual Iasso Health fees for the day and time you choose.
