Your weight history, earlier attempts to lose weight, previous medicines, and any operation already done for weight.
Height and weight, so your BMI can be calculated, and the health problems linked to that weight, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or sleep apnoea.
Contraindications, including pregnancy, a plan to become pregnant, and breastfeeding, plus the warnings in the official product information.
Whether blood tests would help before a decision, and practical advice on food, physical activity, and follow-up.
Injectable medicines and what they are authorized for
Mounjaro (tirzepatide)
In the European Union, Mounjaro is authorized for type 2 diabetes and, separately, for weight management in adults with obesity, a BMI of 30 kg/m² or more, or with overweight, a BMI from 27 to under 30, plus at least one weight-related health problem. It is used together with a lower-calorie diet and more physical activity. Authorization does not mean it is suitable for every adult who asks.
Ozempic (semaglutide)
Ozempic is authorized in the European Union for adults whose type 2 diabetes is not satisfactorily controlled, together with diet and exercise. It is not authorized as a weight-loss medicine. People treated for diabetes may lose weight. That effect is not an authorization to use Ozempic for weight loss.
Wegovy (semaglutide)
Wegovy is the semaglutide medicine authorized in the European Union for weight management, together with diet and physical activity, in adults with obesity or with overweight plus a weight-related health problem. It is a different product from Ozempic.
Use outside the authorization
A doctor may consider a medicine outside its authorized use only when that choice is medically justified and Romanian rules allow it. That is not the same as the medicine being authorized for weight loss.
What a prescription depends on
Any prescription depends only on the medical assessment, the authorized uses, the contraindications, and the rules that apply in Romania.

Questions patients ask
Is Ozempic authorized for weight loss?
No. In the European Union, Ozempic is authorized for type 2 diabetes. It is not authorized as a weight-loss medicine. Wegovy is the semaglutide product authorized for weight management. A prescription is considered only after the consultation.
Is Mounjaro authorized for weight loss?
In the European Union, Mounjaro is authorized for weight management in adults who meet the BMI criteria, together with diet and physical activity. It is also authorized for type 2 diabetes. The consultation still has to show that it is appropriate for you.
Will the booking itself produce a prescription?
No. The doctor decides after reviewing your history, BMI, previous treatments, and contraindications. A prescription is not promised.
